Philippians 1:21

True Life

Most People are Just Existing

Most people travel through life on autopilot.

They coast through their days, completely forgetting to live.

You wake up

You go to work or school

You get home

And you repeat every single day.

Sure, there may be some days when the routine is interrupted. Like a birthday, or a funeral or some new milestone you’ve achieved but what do all those things even mean?

Of Kiplings Six...the most honest is WHY?

Note: This does not diminish the importance of all other questions, however, this question is often the

most telling and answers all others by default.

I’ve asked before: WHO ARE YOU? Now I ask: WHY ARE YOU?

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO LIVE?

Philippians 1:21

“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

THINK: What is most important to you? Now ask yourself the critical question: WHY?

Matthew 6:19-21 “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

Whatever is most important to you is your treasure, it’s where your heart is. This means your heart beats for what is most important to you. It’s what you are living for...IS IT WORTH IT?

Whatever is most important to you answers the question of  WHY ARE YOU...IS IT WORTH IT?

Paul said: “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

A life that BEATS for Christ is a life that’s worthy. Not because God is selfish, not because he needs your

praise. It’s a worthy life because of its meaning:

Matthew 22:36-40

“Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

Throughout the Bible, God is giving one instruction... he is asking us to do only ONE thing:

LOVE

Love is what gives our lives meaning. A life without love is empty, why is that?
